Sherwood L. Yergey
Sherwood L. Yergey is a partner in
Yergey · Daylor · Allebach · Scheffey · Picardi and was one of the founders of the original
predecessor law firm at 1129 High St., Pottstown, Pa., in 1968. He has maintained a general
practice of law in Pottstown since 1960. His practice is primarily estate planning and
administration, business law, real estate law and land development, zoning and municipal law.
He attended Pottstown public schools, Bloomsburg State University (1956) and Dickinson
School of Law (1959). He has a B.S. degree in education (majors in business and English)
and an LL.B. degree. He graduated third in his class from Dickinson School of Law in 1959
and received the Abel Klaw Award for Exemplary Scholarship in Practice and Procedure. In
addition, he was notes editor of Dickinson School of Law Law Review (1957, 1958 and 1959).
From 1960 to 1962 he was law clerk for the Honorable Alfred L. Taxis, President Judge of
the Orphans Court Division of the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County, Pa. He is
a member of American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Montgomery Bar
Association (director 1975 1978) and was municipal solicitor for municipalities in the
Pottstown area for 38 years. He has served on the advisory board of the Salvation Army
Pottstown Citadel since 1978 and was president of the board from 1986 to 1990.
